1. Who We Are

Peersly ("Peersly", "we", "us") provides an accountability-partner matching service at peersly.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information You Provide

• Account info: name, email, password.
• Profile info: photo, location, bio, business details, goals, challenges, optional social links, and your preferred contact info shown to your match.
• Matching preferences: timezone, availability, frequency, and notes.
• Messages and scheduling activity within your match thread.
• Suggestions and support submissions.

3. Information Collected Automatically

We collect basic technical data (IP address, browser, device, pages visited, error reports) to operate the Service, detect abuse, and improve reliability.

4. Calendar Integrations (Google & Microsoft)

If you connect Google Calendar or Outlook (Microsoft 365), Peersly accesses your calendar only to:

• Read free/busy times so we can suggest times you and your match are both free.
• Create, update, or cancel meeting events you schedule with your match.

We do not read the content, attendees, or details of unrelated events. Access tokens are encrypted at rest. You can disconnect at any time from Settings → Calendar, which deletes the stored tokens.

Peersly's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number. Stripe receives the information necessary to process your purchase under their own privacy policy.

6. How We Use Information

• Operate the matching, chat, scheduling, and meeting features.
• Send transactional emails (matches, reminders, account notices).
• Provide support and respond to your requests.
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or harm.
• Improve the Service and fix bugs.

7. What Other Members See

Once you are matched, your profile (name, photo, location, bio, business details, goals, social links you chose to show, and your contact-info field) is visible to your match. Do not include information you don't want a match to see.

8. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run Peersly (such as hosting, database, email delivery, payment processing, and calendar APIs), under contracts that limit their use of the data. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the Service.

9. Data Retention

We retain account and match data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 11).

10. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption at rest for sensitive tokens, role-based access controls, and row-level database security. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

11. Your Choices & Rights

• Edit or remove most profile info from the Profile tab.
• Disconnect calendars from Settings.
• End a match at any time from the Matching tab.
• Request a refund within 30 days from Support, which also cancels your membership.
• Request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us via the Support tab.

Depending on where you live (e.g., EEA, UK, California), you may have additional rights such as access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to object to certain processing. We honor verifiable requests as required by applicable law.

12. Children

Peersly is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

13. International Users

Peersly is operated from the United States. By using the Service, you understand your information will be processed in the United States and other countries that may have different data-protection laws than your own.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice within the Service.
